Bruv & his brothers.

Russ Well my friend, we knew each other a long time & we had many an adventure. We played in possibly the two worst football teams this side of Christendom but also the greatest. Long live the Hemel Allegroes. Funny cars were a big part of our lives, our driving was as bad as our football. I remember you driving to Spurs away in 87 and whacking into some poor old souls car in the car park and then getting soaked on the terraces before nearly getting crushed. Then on a trip to see our dear friends, Caroline & Jo, going round the M25 the wrong way to Amering adding a few hours onto our day. We even travelled to Bruges together on a European Away Day with Jon B and his Dad. Again nearly getting coming to a sticky end but managed to avoid getting battered by the Belgium police. I was so happy when West Ham won you a European trophy last season. It was only right the great god of football Zigga Zagga honoured you. We argued like cats & dogs over everything but never fell out. And funnily enough over the last few years as we sat in your car after a curry or cinema trip I think we agreed on most things. You were a good man, sometimes led astray by others, but you were always a loyal friend to me. I think the council are still looking for that ton of sand or two. You were always very proud of Sophie and she was your shining light. The way you handled yourself in the last few years was remarkable, many would have given up but you managed to lead an eventful life. The roads will be a safer place without you but you will be sorely missed. We will share many stories tomorrow, have a bloody good laugh but to end my tribute I think it only fair to go back to the good old days of the White Hart. No doubt I will be bellowing out Sally MacLennane and thinking of the great times we shared together. "And We walked him to the station in the rain We kissed him as we put him on the train And we sang him a song of times long gone Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again" Rest in peace my friend.
